The leads over 180 kilometers

Premium hiking trail from Bad Kissingen

to Bad Salzungen through the Rhön biosphere reserve, the heart of Germany. The Hochrhöner leads over the highest elevations of the low mountain range,

such as over the Wasserkuppe,

the Kreuzberg, the Heidelstein and the Ellenbogen, which as an extinct volcano with its highest mountain peak,

the Schnitzersberg, which is by far the highest mountain in the Thuringian part of the Rhön.

TRUSETAL

At 50m, the Trusetal Waterfall is the highest waterfall in the Thuringian Forest. It is located in the town of Brotterode-Trusetal and is not a naturally occurring natural phenomenon, but an artificially created attraction.

The Great Inselsberg south of the Rennsteig is 916.5 m above sea level. NHN a prominent, wooded and much-visited mountain of the Thuringian Forest in the Thuringian counties of Gotha and Schmalkalden-Meiningen

THURINGIAN FOREST

The Rennsteig is an approximately 170 km long ridge path as well as a historic border path in the Thuringian Forest, Thuringian Slate Mountains and Franconian Forest. It is also the oldest and, with around 100,000 hikers every year, the most frequented long-distance hiking trail in Germany.
